Some of my students asked me to "post a bulletin," and after having the term explained to me twice, here it is. The band room is open at lunch. It is open before school and until five after. You do not have to play an instrument. You do not have to be in band. You do not have to be doing anything in particular. There are chairs, there is a piano nobody uses, and there is a man at a desk grading arrangements who will not ask you any questions. That has been the arrangement for twenty-two years and it will be the arrangement until they make me leave. If you know a kid who eats lunch in a bathroom stall — and some of you do know one, and some of you are one — the door's open. That's all. Practice your scales. - D. Halverson
